The President of the PYU discussed during 4 hours on the 23rd of June 2016 in Bujumbura, the Burundian Capital with more than 300 young Burundians who came from all the corners of the country. This discussion proceeded in the presence of the President of the Burundian Senate, Honorable Révérien Ndikuriyo and of the Mayor of the town of Bujumbura Mr. Freddy Mbonimpa.

Speaking while being focused on the Africa that we want, the aspiration of the diary 2063, she challenged the young Burundians in the perspective that Burundi is more important than their divergences, because the love of the fatherland must come before political parties and memberships, nationalism must take precedence over the ethnicity and the tribalism, the young people must play a very important role in the peace process because their future and the future of a whole nation depends on it.
The President of the Pan African Youth Union pointed out that nobody will like their country more than they, “nobody will like Burundi more than the Burundians”. It does not matter the problems, the responsibility returns to the Burundians to preserve the sovereignty of their Nation.

On this occasion, she saluted the furnished efforts by His Excellence Pierre Nkurunziza, President of the Republic of Burundi and all Burundian people for their implication in the peace process and of reconciliation, recalling that once upon a time, Burundi was a State which was used as an example and which had succeeded in preserving the assets of peace as a post-conflicts country. Moreover, she launched a call to the African Union Security Council whose members also remain in Burundi, to consider African solutions with the African problems.

Recommending to the Burundian authorities to promote entrepreneurship in Young people to prevent youth unemployment which is the leading cause of politicking handling in the young people.

The President also underlined the aspiration of the diary 2063 for Africa which we want, it is Africa according to the aspirations of Nkwame Nkrumah, of Patrice Emery Lumumba, Mwalimu Nyerere, Simon Kimbangu and Others.

The Africa that we want is not the one we are living in today, because we do not bring African solutions to the African problems.

4 hours of exchange with Burundian youth made it possible to better include/understand the situation of this country.
Among the Young people who took the word appeared in this debate, some which had taken part in massacres in Bujumbura after handling and today they reinstated the society.

Lastly, Francine MUYUMBA recommended to the international mediums to make justice with the Burundian people for this period of peace process. She has promised to the young Burundians a support in this peace process and on other important youth matters
